Rayat Bahra Professional University (RBPU), Hoshiarpur, hosted an insightful awareness programme on “Menace of Substance Drug Abuse: Uncovering the Burden on Women”, drawing attention to the growing concern of substance abuse and its far-reaching impact on women, families and society.

The programme served as an important platform for meaningful dialogue, awareness and collective responsibility towards addressing the social and personal challenges associated with substance abuse.

The programme was chaired by Smt. Vijaya Rahatkar, Hon’ble Chairperson, National Commission for Women (NCW), who delivered the keynote address and led the pledge during the event.

In her insightful address, she highlighted the importance of greater awareness, prevention and collective action in addressing the challenges faced by women due to substance abuse. She emphasized the need for society to come together to support, protect and empower women while creating greater awareness about the harmful consequences of drug abuse.

The programme was further graced by Dr. Chander Mohan, Vice Chancellor, Rayat Bahra Professional University; Hon’ble Ex-MP Shri Avinash Rai Khanna Ji; and S. Gurvinder Singh Bahra, Chairman, Rayat Bahra Group.
