World Cancer Day 2026: RBPU Hosts Cervical & Breast Cancer Awareness Initiative

Rayat Bahra Professional University (RBPU) marked World Cancer Day with a powerful awareness initiative dedicated to the prevention of Cervical and Breast Cancer, organized by the University School of Medical Radiology and Imaging Technology.

The program aimed to educate students and faculty on early detection, prevention strategies, and the growing importance of public awareness in combating cancer. The session was led by Dr. Shweta Tahlan, a renowned Senior Gynaec Oncologist from Fortis Hospital, Mohali, who delivered an insightful lecture on the role of the HPV vaccine in preventing cervical cancer. She emphasized timely vaccination, routine screenings, and informed healthcare choices as key pillars in reducing cancer risk.

The initiative was successfully conducted under the visionary leadership of Dean Dr. Atul Khajuria, with the guidance of HOD Dr. Sukhmeet Kaur Bedi, and the dedicated coordination of Mr. Dilawar. Their collective efforts reinforced RBPU’s commitment to healthcare education, community well-being, and social responsibility.
