RBPU Hoshiarpur Organises Hands-on Workshop on Histochemical Staining and Mammary Neoplasms
The Department of Medical Laboratory Sciences, University School of Allied & Healthcare Sciences, Rayat Bahra Professional University (RBPU), Hoshiarpur, organised a hands-on workshop on “Histochemical Staining and Microscopic Visualisation of Mammary Neoplasms” to enhance students’ practical knowledge and laboratory skills in histopathology and diagnostic procedures.

The workshop was conducted by Mr. Harpreet Singh, Medical Lab Scientist with over 25 years of professional experience, who guided students through important aspects of histochemical staining techniques and microscopic examination.
The session provided students with practical exposure to staining procedures, microscopic visualisation and the laboratory-based evaluation of breast neoplasms. Through expert guidance and hands-on learning, participants gained a better understanding of the importance of accurate laboratory techniques in the examination of tissue samples and the diagnostic process.
The workshop also emphasised the role of Medical Laboratory Scientists in supporting the identification and assessment of pathological changes through reliable laboratory investigations. It helped students connect their theoretical knowledge with practical applications while developing technical competence and an appreciation for precision in laboratory work.
The programme was organised under the guidance of Dr. Sukhmeet Kaur Bedi, Convener and Head of the Department, and coordinated by Mr. S Saquib Shahnawaz, Ms. Pooja and Ms. Aditi Kashyap.
The initiative provided a valuable learning opportunity for students to interact with an experienced professional and gain insights into laboratory practices relevant to histopathology and breast neoplasm investigations.
Through such practical workshops and expert-led training programmes, Rayat Bahra Professional University continues to strengthen skill-based healthcare education and prepare students for professional responsibilities in medical laboratory sciences.
The workshop reinforced the importance of practical training, technical accuracy and continuous learning in developing competent healthcare professionals.
