World Anaesthesia Day 2026 Celebrated at Rayat Bahra Professional University, Hoshiarpur

Rayat Bahra Professional University (RBPU), Hoshiarpur, celebrated World Anaesthesia Day 2026 with great enthusiasm and zeal. The University School of Allied & Healthcare Sciences, Department of Anaesthesia & Operation Theatre Technology (AOTT), organized the celebration to highlight the vital role of anaesthesiologists in ensuring patient safety, comfort, and quality healthcare.

The celebration was based on the theme “Anaesthesiologists Along The Patient Pathway: With You EVERY STEP”, emphasizing the importance of safe anaesthesia for a healthier tomorrow. The event highlighted the three essential stages of anaesthesia care: pre-anaesthetic assessment and preparation before surgery, safe anaesthesia and continuous monitoring during surgery, and recovery, pain relief, and improved patient outcomes beyond surgery.

The occasion was graced by the Worthy Chairman, Sh. Gurvinder Singh Bahra Ji, as the Chief Guest. He honoured the IKGPTU merit holders and academic achievers of Anaesthesia & Operation Theatre Technology for their outstanding academic performance. He also motivated students to pursue excellence in their studies and develop the knowledge and skills required to contribute to the healthcare sector.

The Worthy Vice Chancellor, Dr. Chander Mohan, appreciated the efforts of the students, faculty members, and Head of Department for organizing an informative and inspiring celebration. The event reinforced the importance of professional dedication, patient-centred care, and the contribution of anaesthesia professionals to safe surgical procedures.

The programme was successfully organized under the able leadership of Dr. Sukhmeet Kaur Bedi, Head of Department, University School of Allied & Healthcare Sciences, who served as the Convenor. The event was coordinated by Mr. Irshad and Mr. Akash, whose efforts contributed to its successful execution.
